SML Meditree announced on the 12th that it has strengthened its expertise by expanding its laboratories, recruiting additional specialized personnel, and establishing dedicated laboratory units according to analytical testing areas.
The company has also introduced a new LC-MS/MS platform and is preparing to launch the analysis of drugs and their metabolites in biological samples. In addition, SML Meditree has established an in-house corporate research institute, laying the foundation for collaborative development through industry-academia-research partnerships.
The CEO of SML Meditree explained that, building on its 10 years of experience and expertise in bioanalytical testing, the company plans to provide customized clinical trial analysis services in a more comprehensive manner in 2022. To proactively respond to changing market and client needs, SML Meditree plans to enhance its facilities and analytical equipment for biomarker and immunogenicity testing, as well as molecular genetic testing, enabling highly specific and highly sensitive qualitative and quantitative analyses.
SML Meditree launched Korea's first Central Laboratory Service for clinical trials in Asia in 2003. After becoming an independent entity from Samkwang Medical Laboratories, a specialized diagnostic testing institution, in 2012, the company has continued to provide Central Lab services that meet global standards.
A Central Lab is an institution that collects and analyzes samples obtained from multiple hospitals at a centralized laboratory to ensure consistent and accurate clinical trial results.
In April 2019, SML Meditree was designated by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) as an institution for the analysis of clinical trial samples. Since then, the company has continued to build trust among clients through its work in domestic and international clinical trials, multicenter collaborative research, and government-funded research projects.
In particular, SML Meditree's RVDS (Real-time Visit Management & Data Search System), a real-time laboratory test result management system, enables the entire clinical trial process to be managed through a single platform, from sample pickup requests and blood collection kit requests and management to the downloading of test result reports. Since its renewed launch in 2014, the system has received positive feedback from clients for its convenience and efficiency.
